If you use the Microphone socket, maybe with volume boost to input your tracks it should work fine, although you will have to get the volume right. If you want to edit the tracks in any way then you really need to use AUDACITY, a free music editor which will also turn the tracks into mp3 but you have more control of the conversion of a wave file wave using Audiograbber FILE,/ Make mp3

I record sound files off my pc with audiograbber all the time, I record them as wav files then I use wavpad to cut them to my liking then I use audiograbber to convert them to mp3 320kbs, been doing this with audiograbber since 2000, I make my music mixes on my pc and record them with audiograbber, make sure u save ur sound recording captures as wavs first then convert them to mp3 using audiograbber. Audiograbber can preform the tasks u have asked about, give it a shot.

This is not working anymore in AudioGrabber (from Windows 98) you can use the stereo sound mixer or recording control from Windows

Use "Line in sampling" from the File menu. Youll have to open the audio mixer using the button that Audiograbber provides, or double-click on the speaker icon in your system tray (it doesnt always open from Autobiographer), select properties from the Options menu, then click on recording (or drop down the menu to select the audio input if the radio buttons are grayed out). Some computers will allow you to select the Stereo Mix as the recording input -- this is what you want. It all depends on the audio driver and what it exposes to Windows. Otherwise you can use a splitter cable from the line/speaker output to go to both your speakers and loopback to your line-in and record that. If you do that, you will have to mute the Line-In on the playback mixer or you will get terrible sounds... Youll have to adjust the audio levels of both the playback and record to get a get level. You want it to be in the middle most of the time, with a few peaks up to 90-95%, but never over 99% or you will get distortion. I tend to keep the playback level as high as possible and the record level as low as possible to give the best recording level -- this gives the lowest noise levels.

I am wanting to download an entire 2 hour show from a .com radio show. the answer said go to settings and then freedb settings-but there were no instructions of how to set it up or that it would do it when I took those 2 steps or what settings I even need to have to do it- VERY new at this-

24 bit software are different and a major enhancement in sound recording quality; it,s not supported by this free software. under reserve you can try this : Use External Encoder in: Options, MP3 Options, Click Wave at the top and below "External Encoder". When I grab, it records via the mic on my Logitech webcam even though the music is playing correctly thru my speakers. I have Windows 7 and a Realtek soundcard. I installed the newest driver. Then go to Start -> Control Panel -> Sounds. Choose tab Record. Make StereoMix default. Problem solved! Soundcard is recognized and Audiograbber is working again. Han van Engelen

I suspect there is too much background noise from the Cassette / Cassette player / your Sound card. Does the Volume Meter drop below 1% (ish) between tracks?

Funny, I have been tracking error messages for two months and every Thursday I get a speed problem error. No settings have changed on capture to computer or equipment changes.
