I record sound files off my pc with audiograbber all the time, I record them as wav files then I use wavpad to cut them to my liking then I use audiograbber to convert them to mp3 320kbs, been doing this with audiograbber since 2000, I make my music mixes on my pc and record them with audiograbber, make sure u save ur sound recording captures as wavs first then convert them to mp3 using audiograbber.
