I have just bought audiograbber mp3 plugin. Wizzard installed it, informed me that it is installed, but nothing happens. From the directory neighter can I start it, with the exe file. What can I do?

I have used Audiograbber for years very successfully, but lately it will not grab and convert to MP3 anymore. How can I cure this please

I have Audiograbber on two different Windows 7 systems, both are 64-bit. The program works perfectly on both machines, with one exception: One machine has Windows 7 Ultimate and has no difficulties with the program, the other has Windows 7 Home Premium but the dialog box on this machine will not expand to show the whole box... the "compression" options are unavailable. I have tried to troubleshoot this, including changing the Windows "shell", but I cant seem to overcome this problem. Anyone else has this difficulty or a fix? I wonder if my Home Premium system was running Ultimate if that would be the only fix. ---edit--- Still looking for and would like an answer, but I have found a workaround... I found the portable version of the 1.83 Audiograbber (latest version), installed it on a flash drive and then copied the files on the flashdrive to my hard drive. The application works perfectly and I dont have to use a flashdrive for the application at all. There must be files NOT written to the hard drive that the full application installs, I suspect thats where the problem lies.

You put the file "lame_enc.dll" which you can search and download in the Audiograbber directory. Go to the "MP3 Settings..." on the "Settings" menu. Choose "Internal Encoder" Scroll the menu down to "LameEnc DLL version..." Choose "Constant Bitrate" Set the bar to "320" Chose Quality "Stereo" (or Dual Stereo) "High" Normal Priority And if you want the option to directly rip the CD to mp3 Set at the top of the window select "Grab to", "Direct Rip and Encode to MP3 file." Hope this helps

Comments from the original thread JBM on 2012-08-03: It is probable that your problems are due to using Lame as an exterior decoder. You should use it as an internal decoder: how to do this is explained in the audiograbber Help files. I use LameEnc DLL Version 1.32 (1/11/2011) Engine 3.99 and it will do all you want.

I regularly use AG for Audio books using Lame codec and an 8 CD book will be about 250 mb or 8 books to your player. Dont worry about the quaity compared to a music file, it is not the same! The mp3 Settings I use are 1/. Lame as Internal Encoder with a 2/. Contant Bitrate of 32 with 3/. the Quality set to Joint Stereo and Voice. These settings are perfectly OK for the usual single narrator Audio Book.

Updated my system and am running Win7 64 bit. Installed latest version of Audiograbber and lame plugin. Lame doesnt show up as an internal decoder. It is installed in the correct folder. Then I downloaded and installed the same on a Windows XP computer and it all worked correctly. Why cant I get the Win 7 one working? Thanks

Hello ! I need to extract the sound from standard audio tapes, and convert the saved "tracks" on my computer in mp3. But the sound quality is really bad when i try to extract the sound via the sound card of my laptop (windows Vista). Like 2 years ago i use my old walk man and a jack-jack cable. the only difference is that now i have a laptop "hp pavillion dv6" on vista. 2 years ago i had a pc (tower) with windows xp. and i had successfully extracted the sound from many audio tapes with a jack M- Jack M cable and my old walk-man. (Audiograbber) is it a configuration problem ? maybe some options that must be changed or selected in the audiograbber ?? Thank you

Select Settings from the menu and then select option ID3v2 tag.... In the pop-up window there is a section for Track numbers. Select the first option.

My issue was resolved by putting flac.exe and audiograbber in a folder simply called FLAC at the root of my c:/ drive. The songs I seemed to be missing when encoding had longer names than usual, but reducing the # of characters seemed to fix all my missing encoded files.
