Start AudioGrabber with a right-click and Run As "Administrator" then every setting works or can be changed. (I think its an XP Pro thing...) Change Settings, Directory to store... from the Audiograbber folder to something like ....\My Documents\My Music -Yhosg

I am a DJ thats just gone digital and and I am using AG to rip my CDs to WAV. As a DJ I need to maintain the highest quality of my music as possible. I am using Audio Grabber to Rip All my CDS to WAV with the same settings for all the RIPs, however, some of my ALBUMS have been ripped @ 2282kbps and some albums have been ripped at half that much 1141kbps. these are the only 2 values thats its been ripping to. I would like to maintain a uniformity in ripping the CDs, preferably at 2282kbps. Is this normal ? Does the sound quality differ between 2822 and 1411? Please let me know what to do.

Try to install our mp3 plugin for AG. This should automatically configure LAME as an internal encoder, so no DOS window pops up! http://www.audiograbber.org/download.html

Lets see if I can help you solve this. From the AG help file - So you need x3enc.exe. look in the AudioCatalyst install folder for that file. If it is there copy it to the Audiograbber install folder. Then in Audiograbber go to MP3 Settings and choose the External Encoder tab. If you cannot find x3enc.exe then youre stuffed unless you can fine a source for it (Xing Technology is out of business).

Try to install our MP3 plugin from http://www.audiograbber.org/download.html. Then it should work!

You can convert Wav files with Audiograbber but not WMA files. Use http://germanixsoft.de/germanix-transcoder/ instead

Just install the MP3 plugin from http://www.audiograbber.org/download.html Then you automatically get MP3 files at about 192 kbit/s.

Where did you purchase it? It is freeware since 2003! You can use the built in normalize feature of Audiograbber to normalize while ripping. Instead, I would recommend you to use the free tool MP3 gain to adjust the volume of you MP3s, because it is lossless: http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/ Best, Stefan

Perhaps a setting in AG is causing this. Click on Settings, then click on the Rip Offset tab in the General Settings dialog. Notice the checkbox in the top-left section, "Shorten last track by 10 frames". If this is checked, uncheck it , click OK, and try ripping again then check the end of the recording to see if that fixed the problem. Cheers! -Sean-

Go to mp3 file the button on the toolbar or Settings>Mp3 Settings Next the selection "use ID3v1 Tag" select edit Select include tracknumber (ID3v1.1) towards the bottom of the dialog box Press Okay The track number should now appear in the tag.

I set my normalizing and other settings as follows: Normaizing: Check Use Normalizing. Set Peak Level to 98 In second box, check peak level is lower than 93. or Higher than 99 Set compression to Never. MP3 settings: Set MP3 via Intermediate WAV - delete the Wav Check Use ID3v1 Tag Check Rip all tracks before encoding Use Internal Encoder. I use Lame v 3.98 I set bitrate to Variable I set the quality to VBR 1 Quality is set to Joint Stereo and High Bitstream Flags to Original Settings to Artist Name, Track Number & Name All other settings to default

v1.83: Settings, General Settings, Naming tab: Check: Use sub directories only for mp3 and wma This doesnt seem to be configurable re: actual folder for WAV files, but it will store them at the same directory level as the Sub Directories specified just above that parameter (instead of where the MP3 files are stored). Also, specify a Directory to store files in: i.e. C:\Ripped_music It will store the WAV files there, with the MP3 files in the Artist/Album Sub Directories specified in the associated check-boxes. This may not be optimal, but will indeed separate the WAVs from the MP3s.

If you are running a 64-bit Windows OS, the files may end up in a hidden folder such as c:\users\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\audiograbber These can be really tricky to find in a default setup because they dont necessarily even show up in a search.

You must have "Rip all tracks before encoding" unchecked in the mp3 menu for the "Direct rip to mp3" option to appear.

CDA is the file format native to CDs. You can convert to playable format usually with just Windows Media Player. Or look for Audograbber. Its a great little tool for ripping your CDs. http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/
