Why does Audiograbber lock up without a CD in a drive?

Audiograbber rips CDs great! However, if I open Audiograbber without a CD in a drive, and then go to the options to select the path for ripped files and press the Open button, Audiograbber completely locks the computer. Powerdown is the only way to recover (no CTL-ALT-DEL or any other process killer will work). 100% repeatable. Tried re-install, re-boot, etc, etc. Tried disabling exraneous shell extensions, antivirus, all the usual things. All other menu options work fine. If I never hit the Open button to change path, everything else I tried seems to work fine.
Windows XP SP3, all updates, latest Adaptec ASPI, dual-core CPU.
