unable to use Mixer button using windows 7, prev. ok in Windows XP

I have had the same problem, but in my case I have experienced this situation in Windows 7 and Windows Vista. Apparently there is a compatibility issue in those two OSs. My sound card is a Sounblaster Live! 24 bits.
(I have experienced this problem while attempting to capture Online Audio).
