This is really strange. Does anyone have an idea?

Strange - no, there are no premium features you have to pay for. Does the problem still exist?

I like to save ripped files to my desktop and then manipulate them. The list of location options does not include the desktop. Am I missing something? Is there some way to save the files to my desktop? (By manipulate, I change bit rates, merge tracks, and splice results.)
