Yes. try the integrated line in sampling feature (via menu File).

Seems like you have "analog" ripping enabled in the options dialog. Try selecting "ASPI".

Ive answered my own query! I went through the entire system, removing all invalid uninstallers, Algorithmix files, Audiograbber files, registry entries referencing algo*, registry entries referencing Audiograbber, start menu entries etc - to make sure that it looked as if Audiograbber and Algorithmix had never been installed at all! Then I did a clean re-install of Audiograbber, followed by the Lame encoder and then the Algorithmix plug-ins. All went OK and now 100% again. The noticed difference with the Algorithmix installer is that the first plug-in asked for an install path this time, whereas before this dialog was never presented - so I conclude that some remnant of a previous invalid installation was causing the problem!

Should be entirely based on CPU speed. The slower the computer - the less the ability to run other programs while ripping. Bring up Task Manager and look at the "Performance" tab. If you are seeing high CPU usage - running another program might not be a good idea.

Ive been studying burners since the 2x days. Plextor and Sony seem to be the only truely reliable burners. Plextor now sells lower priced units sometimes with 3rd party firmware, but are still among the best of all hardware. Sony also seems to be a very reliable drive. All other name brands just arent as good. Also, use good discs such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden, avoid junk like Memorex. Get them on the web. If you rip a WAV to MP3, then burn to disc (assuming CD audio format), then re-rip to MP3, you are (lossy) compressing the file with each rip. It wont be the same size. It degrades each time. Remember, MP3 is a lossy compress method. M4A is an ex of lossless compression. Explain your errors . . . burner may not be the issue, its your method. Nero/Roxio are fine programs.

Hm, hard drive full? Did you try to change the output folder (in options) to another one?

Go to the CD menu, Grab CDG tracks (Karaoke), Grab to .cdg + compressed file.

I get inconsistent recordings usually in tracks 1 and 2, sometimes 3 and very occasionally, other random tracks. Changes in speed and a mismatch between vocals and backing are the main ptoblem.

Its pretty simple: Jackie is not comfortable with others looking the source and has refused to release it. It is written using C++Builder so porting it is really not a good reason to be able get the source.

I use Audiograbber to convert my LPs and tapes to MP3 files. Occasionally, I will play back the MP3 or WAV files, only to hear the playback of the files is slow. It is as if the songs are a half tone lower than they should be and half a beat too slow. It is frustrating, as it doesnt happen every time. I keep all other programs closed while I use Audiograbber, keeping all my RAM dedicated to that program only. What should I do to fix this? I am using XP and Lame for encoding.

Id be prepared to pay again for a supported version. It does all that I want and in a very logical fashion (on my XP machine). Fingers crossed it will work on W7 64bit when I try that.

Hello everyone, Love Audiograbber but for some reason I cannot clear the name of a file from the box where you enter files to be encoded. I have even removed Audiograbber and re-installed it to another folder with no success. I have never seen this behavior before and havent a clue why its doing it. I have tried to make an mp3 from the file that is showing but nothing happens because there is no actual file there to be encoded. Its like the program has a memory of what it did and cant purge it. Im sure something is written to the registry but I havent a clue where. The new install of the "SE" version works fine even with the phantom file showing. Thanks to all! Tinsby

Look at Settings -> General Settings and look at your CD-ROM type on the bottom. Try changing that from "SCSI - XXX" to "IDE - ATAPI" (or the other way around). Does that help?

When you chose "View" - "Details" from within a folder in Windows XP Explorer, columns are shown that Windows XP thinks are the most useful for said folder. For example: For file folders, these are usually Name, Size, Type, and Date Modified. For music folders, details shown are usually Name, Size, Type, Artist, Album Title, Year, Track Number, and Duration. For picture folders, you may see Name, Size, Type, Date Modified, Date Picture Taken, and Dimensions. However, these chosen details may not be to your liking. Some items may not be needed, others you wish to see. Luckily you can customize these options on a per-folder basis. From a folder, choose "View" - "Choose Details". A "Choose Details" dialog box will appear. all the songs that I had in the file on c drive are still in but anything that I added in last 6 months have dissappered from file so unable to add to karaoke program.

Try settings > more misc. There you can disable "Use internal sound effects".
